Financial Spring Cleaning

Spring is a time of renewal and rejuvenation. The sun is shining, days are getting longer, flowers are blooming, baseball/softball season is upon us. These are the days that we long to open our windows and get cleaning!

But our homes aren’t the only things that can benefit from a little spring cleaning. How about giving your finances a refresh while you’re at it?

Here are things that you can do to check in on your finances this spring:

  1. Review your budget and spending habits to determine the areas you can improve.

  2. Review your monthly bills & statements to ensure you are being billed correctly.

  3. Check-in on and review your debt repayment progress.

  4. Focus on contributing to your emergency fund and getting it to 3 to 6 months of your basic living expenses. If you have credit card debt, get your emergency fund to $1000 and focus on paying off that debt.

  5. Check your credit if you haven’t done so in the last 12 months. Also, plan to monitor your credit frequently.

  6. Check on your retirement and investment account portfolios and rebalance them if needed.

  7. Pursue your business ideas to generate more income!

Don’t be too hard on yourself if you have fallen behind with your goals. There’s no better time than now to catch up on your goals.

Never doubt yourself – you CAN do it!
